Lately there has been loads of news flying around that the new version of iTunes, iTunes 9, could have, social networking, blu-ray support, App Organisation and so much more! I have been using iTunes for several years now. I started using it just around version 4 and as soon as I got my first iPod, the 5th Gen iPod Video, I have never really used any other program to manage my music. iTunes for me was a fresh and welcomed break from Windows Media Player (WMP). I have never really got on with Windows Media Player, sure it’s improved version to version but I found and still find it crashes often, the organisation isn’t as clear and I have an iPod/iPhone so why would I really go back to WMP?

Each Major new release of iTunes tends to bring some sort of improvement and new features. Major being the main version number like iTunes 5, 6, 7, 8 etc. The current version 8 saw the introduction of the Genius Sidebar (which I don’t use that often), a new Visualiser (don’t use that either), Grid View, which is great for deciding which Album to play, HD TV Shows (never used) and support for newer iPods/iTouch/iPhone. So version 8 wasn’t for me a whole load of excitement which has got me really wanting something big from iTunes 9. So I have decided to list some features I really want and I’d love to know what you are wanting, hoping for, expecting, so get in touch!

1. One feature I would really like to see is the ability to organise apps on iTunes and for this to be represented on my iPhone. I have always found it rather tricky to organise the apps and my tend to be just on in the order they were installed. To get an idea what this could be like svdomer09 on YouTube made this great concept:

2. The next idea that would be good is perhaps the ability to be able to text using SMS from the Computer if the iPhone is plugged into it. This would be a really great feature as I tend to plug my iPhone in either to sync or charge it and if I could Send and Receive texts without having to go near the phone or unplug it that would be great!

3. The ability to take full control of the iPhone/iTouch. I think it would be great if you could use the device while plugged in via the computer. This would be great as you could effectively use and App on your computer and not just your iPhone/iTouch!

4. Id like to see a remote sync perhaps over bluetooth. This might be possible now and I have missed something if so please do tell me!

5. Social networking could be potentially a great idea too. If Apple integrates Twitter, Facebook etc into iTunes it could mean when you decide to watch a movie or you rate a song 5 stars all your followers could be updated maybe? Just a thought!
