6/11/2010 to 13/10/2010
It’s that time of the week again (well its actually a little late sorry) but yes, time for Tech Bite! This week, iOS 4.2 bugged, fixed, ready? Google’s next Nexus phone, “Nexus S” provided by Samsung, AMD Radeon New Cards due for update in Q1 2011, UK says No to Pre 2, iTunes is ready to take on 4.2 and how long does it take to install the SGP Screen Shield for iPad? All coming up in this weeks Tech Bite provided by Cloud Bite.
AMD Radeon Roadmap Shows new Cards in Q1 2011
It’s only been a few weeks since the new 68xx series of Radeon cards we realised to the world and already AMD are way ahead planning the 69xx series. A AMD roadmap clearly shows a 6990, 6970 and 6950 all inbound and ready to take on the might of Nvidia’s GTX 580, the current king of the GPU world. There are no specs at the moment but the price is likely to be really high, as is the power and performance, we can’t wait!
iOS Bugged, Fixed now Ready?
iOS 4.2 was nearing the end of it’s Beta stage when a annoying bug appeared, if you wanted to use wifi then, well, you couldn’t. Apple have recently fixed the issue with though which means iOS 4.2 should be pretty much complete now and ready for release! Will we see a release of 4.2 this week? I sure hope so, followed by a quick and easy jailbreak it would be a great week!
iTunes 10.1 out with new features!
iTunes 10.1 is out bringing AirPlay, Apples feature to wirelessly stream videos from iTunes to Apple TV, iOS 4.2 support and of course the usual bug fixes and performance improvements. (I’m guessing the performance one doesn’t apply to Windows users?
UK says no to Palm pre 2.
Pocket-lint personally contacted Orange, Vodafone, Three and O2 (who sold Pre 1 and other Palm devices) and all said they have no plans to carry the device on their networks. The pre 2 will still come to the UK though at a £399 price tag for the sim free version. Personally, your probably better off going the Android route! Obviously this isn’t definite so if you really want a Pre 2 keep an eye out!
Google’s Next Nexus the “Nexus S”?
Spotted on best buy flyers then in real life the next Nexus Phone appears to be provided by Samsung and is titled the Nexus S. Presumably S for Samsung?? Odd. Anyway it looks like the device will be running Gingerbread and is likely to be a great seller. Engadget contacted Google but as ever said they do not comment on rumour.
So that is it your weekly round up, complete.
