How To: Get Alerted When Information Appears On The Web

Would you like the option to be alerted if a certain Topic appears in the News? Do you wished to be alerted when new content regarding a particular topic is added to the web? Well I have come across a way of doing just that! Google continues to add a great selection of tools to it’s Library and now there’s Google Alerts. Simply enter the topic of interest, select what type of content you wish to be alerted about and the E-Mail or Feed you wish this information to be sent to.

Google Alerts

Google suggests using the system for:

monitoring a developing news story

keeping current on a competitor or industry

getting the latest on a celebrity or event

keeping tabs on your favorite sports teams

So for example using Google Alerts you could use the search term, Twitter, Select News and you will be updated when Twitter appear in the News. Google Alerts is in BETA, which it will probably be for years to come knowing Google! It’s Definitely worth checking out though!
