HTC has arrived into the tablet scene with it’s 7-inch “Flyer”! The Android 2.4 Tablet is packed with features all incorporated in a aluminium unibody construction. The tablet touts a speedy 1.5ghz CPU, 1GB Ram plus 32GB of flash storage. The screen has a resolution of 1024×600 which sadly is just under 720p HD but still looks beautiful from the pictures we have seen. HTC are packing in a tablet optimised version of their hugely successful “Sense” and a feature many have wanted from the iPad, a pressure-sensitive stylus! HTC Scribe is the trademark they are using for what HTC calls it’s “ground-breaking pen experience”. Other features include a 5mp camera on the rear of the device and a 1.3mp front camera for video calls. Also the tablet has a 4000mah battery providing 4 hours continuous video playback but no details on the standby time.
The flyer should be shipping in Q2 2011 with Android 2.4 installed. Hopefully in the future it will have Andriod 3.0 however HTC say the new version of sense is the main user experience and has been optimised for tablet form.

It’s great news for HTC fans and great news for the tablet industry as the more tablets floating around mean more competition!
