Today HTC have refreshed their line-up by introducing the Desire S, Incredible S and HTC’s budget Android Phone the Wildfire S.
The HTC Incredible S is HTC’s new smartphone running Android 2.2 (froyo) and will be launched globally in Q2. Running a snapdragon 1GHZ processor 768mb Ram, 720p HD Recording with it’s 8mp camera and a standard resolution of 800×480.
Next up the Desire S is HTC’s replacement for the hugely successful Desire HD. Featuring the same resolution screen as the Incredible S but with a screen size of 3.7inches the Desire S is packed into a aluminium body. Other than that the specs are very similar to the current model. It does feature a brand new front facing camera though and unlike the Incredible S will come with Android 2.4 (Gingerbread) when it ships in Q2 this year.
Finally the Wildfire S, HTC’s budget Android Smartphone has been subtlety updated to with a higher resolution HVGA (instead of QVGA) Screen. Also in order to appeal more to it’s user market the Phone will be available in many colours. It alongside the Desire S will feature Android 2.4 from its release also.
So that is the summary of HTC’s new smartphone offerings. It does seem odd the Incredible wont feature the latest version of Android, which again backs up the “fragmented” way Android is offered.
