Download Firefox 5 Today!
It doesn’t seem too long ago that Firefox 4 was released, infact it was 22nd March 2011 when the last version was out so this is a pretty quick turn-around. The reason for this is Mozilla have now changed their release model to a quick release schedule.
“Mozilla’s shift to a rapid release development cycle delivers cutting edge Firefox features, performance enhancements, security updates and stability improvements to users faster. – Mozilla Blog“
This might also be Firefox’s way to keep up with market-share gaining competitors like Google Chrome that is rapidly becoming one of the most popular browsers. We often see new releases of Chrome constantly bringing improvements to the browser and it looks like Mozilla want to do the same with Firefox. Appparently Firefox is now on a 18-week release-cycle meaning more updates are to come before the year is out.
It’s worth noting there are improvements to new technologies like HTML 5 and CSS 3 and stability improvements but other than that nothing much has changed and it still scores the exact same on the HTML5test website as version 4.
Are you a Firefox user? Has Chrome tickled your fancy?

Since the arrival of the iPhone App Store in 2008, it wasn’t long until others decided to jump on the bandwagon and surely wasn’t too long until Apple made a Mac version? Lately there has been loads of news flying around that the new version of iTunes, iTunes 9, could have, social networking, blu-ray support, App Organisation and so much more! I have been using iTunes for several years now. I started using it just around version 4 and as soon as I got my first iPod, the 5th Gen iPod Video, I have never really used any other program to manage my music. iTunes for me was a fresh and welcomed break from Windows Media Player (WMP). I have never really got on with Windows Media Player, sure it’s improved version to version but I found and still find it crashes often, the organisation isn’t as clear and I have an iPod/iPhone so why would I really go back to WMP?

Today one of the biggest games of 2009 is released to the UK, The Sims 3. The Sims franchise is huge and it has just got bigger! Developed by EA, The Sims 3 has had a few set backs, one being that 2 weeks ago the game was leaked on the Internet however EA “claim” the version is missing many features as its a pre-final buggy copy. I haven’t played the game yet and I wont be personally going out to buy it today either, mainly because I’m not a big Sims fan, but I know many are and will be getting their copy.

Are there certain web applications you use all the time? Are you fed up of having to open a browser and navigate to the page? Well Mozilla are, and have created Prism! What Prism does is create any web application into a destop application. For this example I’m going to use GMail, Googles e-mail service.
