It was several months ago Netflix announced it would “soon” arrive in the UK, well today is the day. UK users have longed for a great online streaming service with a low cost such as Netflix but have been serveraly limited with only Love Film (Netflix’s largest rival in the UK) getting anywhere near offering a full online streaming experience however it comes with a cost.
Netflix is £5.99 per month in the UK meaning unlimited streaming of Movies and TV shows for a great price. The quality seems far superior to the the quality of Lovefilm’s streaming and there seems to be several features missing from Lovefilms selection. Also as with Lovefilm you can stream on your console too making it a great edition to the media hubs of our homes!
You can currently sign up for a 30 day free trial at Netflix.com

So today there has been a huge update to the BBC iPlayer, the On Demand TV and radio Service from the BBC has now got personal!
So far the BBC iPlayer team have focused on getting the technical aspects of the iPlayer working bug free and improving reliability. Also iPlayer Version 2 focussed on creating a complete cross platform player which now works not online but across many desktop platforms, mobiles, iPhone, TV Sets, Consoles (more than 40 devices actually), a list of compatible devices can be found here.
Version 3
So version 3 makes the iPlayer more personal by introducing many new features plus a fantastic new sleek design.
- Favourites – So one of the big new features are favourites. You can now select your favourite programs be it radio or TV and they will appear right at the top of the iPlayer page. This makes it really easy now to find the programs that interest you the most and they will appear right at the top as soon as they are available. This is one Feature I have really been waiting for so its great its finally here!

Well some of these videos may have a great sound track, be a podcast, or should that be videocast. Anyway it might just have a sound that you would like to download to add to your library, iPod or a Mobile Phone.
