Amazon Launches Android Appstore – Exclusive Angry Birds

22nd March, 2011

Amazon has launched its Appstore today for Android. They have also managed to secure Angry Birds Rio, which is exclusive to the Amazon appstore. However it hasn’t been an easy launch as Apple have slapped a law suit on Amazon as they are using the “App Store” name which infringes Apples Trademark. Amazon have clearly tried to separate the name by removing the space used in the name “AppStore” but that isn’t enough for Apple.

We will keep you informed of any news! Also to note sadly at the moment this is US only, hopefully Amazon will bring it to the UK soon!

Update: Angry Birds Rio is exclusive on the Amazon Store only for Android it is also available on the App Store for iOS Devices.

Google Unleashes New Chrome Logo

21st March, 2011

Today Google released their brand new logo for their browser, Chrome. From the 3D chrome effect logo to a new 2D Matt finish logo, Google hasn’t stated why it’s changed the design of the logo. This also leads us to wonder will they change to logo of any other of their services, who knows?

So what do you think of the New Logo? Personally I like and don’t like it. However I do feel it is more “logo like” now.

iPad 2 Gets Torn Apart Only 512mb Ram Found

iPad2 Teardown

iPad 2 Teardown by iFixit

The folks over at iFixit have once again torn apart dismantled as they do with so many new devices. It’s a pretty sight when something so compact gets taken apart however iFixit also discovered the iPad 2 battery is 0.2 watt hours better than iPad 1 (so not alot), the A5 processor, which we all knew about, and what shattered many geeks hearts,
512mb of Ram, which was rumoured but still is rather shocking. It’s likely Apple will up iPhone 5′s ram to 1GB so why on earth they continue to lag behind with the more powerful iPad, where more power would be more useful no-one knows, but that’s Apple!
